Lifeguard Programme: Chairs
Designed as part of a fictional Lifeguard Programme (13) formed after a UFO attack on a public beach, these chairs are conceived as functional artifacts created by lifeguards themselves in response to crisis.
Referencing the authority and structure of traditional lifeguard furniture, the chairs are intentionally reduced in scale. Rather than functioning as primary seating, they operate as secondary furnitureβusable as a side chair, side table, or display surface for books and objects.
The contrast between red-painted and dark wood elements emphasizes visibility, urgency, and material reuse. While rooted in speculative worldbuilding, the pieces remain fully functional, exploring how narrative can transform everyday furniture into objects that exist between utility, memory, and fiction.
